You will find the words “Autism-friendly” a lot throughout the website – but how can you put it into action?
Everyone can do something to be more Autism-friendly whether it be learning how to effectively communicate with someone who have the condition or making the environment of your business or community group more manageable – we can all do something!
We developed some handbooks to prove this is the case covering everything from Public Transport to Hospitals.
Check them out below and use them! Does anyone do anything Autism-friendly in your area? Sometimes it can just be a matter of explaining and asking. Most people really want to help but don’t know where to start – be a leader and show them!
People with Autism faces real accessibility issues everyday, just like people with other disabilities, but because the condition is invisible they can be overlooked – your job is to make these issues visible by raising them in your community!
If you want more help or information about this or an organisation wants to know more, we have your back – email us on info@asiam.ie
If a business in your area wants to make a pledge to do something Autism-friendly – get them to print this out, write in their pledge and take a picture – we will share it on our website!
