AsIAm recently held its first National Autism Conference, exploring the theme of “Empowering Potential”. We were delighted to hold an Autism-friendly event and welcome over 330 Delegates to the event.
We had amazing speakers exploring topics as varied as education, employment, independent living, transition, anxiety, parenting and relationships. The showstopper for many on the day though were the incredible contributions of members of the Autism Community in Ireland.
Laragh Smith and Joanne Weller are two members of our Youth Leadership Team and in the below clip, you can see their incredible speeches. They shared their experiences and thoughts on public attitudes, independent living, hopes for the future and being part of the AsIAm Youth Leadership Team.
